Mazak to open 14th European Technology Center in Hungary

Yamazaki Mazak, world leader in CNC machine tools , has announced the opening of its Technology Center Hungary, the 14th Technology Center in Europe, demonstrating the company’s ongoing commitment to invest in local support for its customers in the growing market of Central Europe.
The new Technology Center, the 80th  Mazak support base in the world, will be located in Soskut, near Budapest, and compliments Yamazaki Mazak Central Europe’s existing Technology Centers, located in Prague, in the Czech Republic, and Katowice in Poland, that were opened in 2012.
Situated directly on the M7 highway (direction Croatia and Slovenia) on the outskirts of Budapest, the impressive new 1,780 sqm facility benefits from a striking architectural design and cutting edge construction methods, including environmentally friendly and energy efficient features.
The highlight of the new Technology Center will be the 736 sqm demonstration area which will house 10 machines from the Mazak range, including the latest INTEGREX and VARIAXIS multi-tasking machines, QUICK TURN turning centers, vertical and horizontal machining centers, laser processing machines and Mazak’s SMOOTH Technology, the world’s fastest CNC system.
Alongside the demonstration area, the new facility includes a 50-seat learning auditorium, classroom teaching facilities, meeting rooms and offices.
Yamazaki Mazak Central Europe s.r.o. was established in 2004 and the Hungarian Branch Office has been supporting customers across the full spectrum of manufacturing, including automotive, energy, automation and general subcontract industry sectors. Today, more than 100 local Mazak employees work alongside the extensive distribution network, dedicated to supporting a fleet of circa 5,000 Mazak machine tools in Central Europe.
The new Technology Center will act as a strategic base to support customers in the Hungarian domestic market and also neighbouring markets including Bosnia-Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia and Slovenia .
Dr Damien Cleugh, General Manager for Yamazaki Mazak Central Europe, commented: “Our new Technology Center Hungary is a clear demonstration of the Yamazaki Mazak philosophy of supporting customers locally. The Central European market for machine tools is developing rapidly, both at an OEM and subcontract engineering level, and this new Technology Center will ensure that we continue to offer our customers the highest levels of support throughout the operational life of their machines. Via the new Training Academy we are extending the range of training courses we offer and
I would encourage all manufacturing engineers to visit the new Technology Center Hungary to find out more about the latest innovations.”
The Grand Opening will be celebrated with an international open house event running on the following dates: 12th-13th and 17th-19th May.
